With the first day of October came a torrential downpour, and this happy sight along our road. Any regular visitors to my site may have noticed that a lot of my shots lately have had some kind of vignetting applied to them - either a dark border or burnt colour, mostly in the corners. I like the effect a lot and have been adding it in one form or another to almost all my shots.
I read a book in Waterstones today about Pulitzer prizewinning photographs over the last 50 years or so. Most of them were astonishing and very moving, but almost all were about war, death, or similarly depressing subject matter. There's no news like bad news.
