I had the privilege of shooting upcoming actress Axelle Carolyn on Monday. I met her on a short film called 'I Love You' earlier this year, in which she was the recipient of Leslie Simpson's affectionate bloody 'gift', and arranged a portrait shoot with her when I decided to expand my portfolio in that direction.
Axelle was a lot of fun to shoot - she's had an extensive career writing about the horror movie industry and is now starting to appear in a number of low and high budget horror films as an actress. We started off with some great 'fashion' poses but towards the end I had her smear the makeup across her face and we got some excellent shots from that. I'll be posting several of my favourites in the next few days.
In this image she's lit from above by flat daylight coming through a skylight, and from behind with an SB-600 to give some rim lighting.
